COMMUNITY ORCHARD TREE PRUNING March 5th; 9AM-12PM

Join us to prune the fruit trees in the Community Orchard at Mill Ridge Park. We will work together to prune and maintain the trees so that they will stay healthy and productive for the season ahead. No experience is necessary–we will teach you the basics of pruning and share helpful tips. If you already know how to prune fruit trees, your skills are welcome and appreciated!

WEED WRANGLEl March 7th; 10AM-12:30PM

Join Friends of Mill Ridge Park to remove invasive species at the park as a part of the national Weed Wrangle® event. This is accomplished via hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines, and flowering plants.

Supervised by volunteer leaders in invasive weed management, participants can expect to learn about effective removal techniques and replanting with native species alternatives while having fun.

Weed Wrangle®, is a one-day, citywide, volunteer effort to help rescue our public parks and green spaces from invasive species through hands-on removal of especially harmful trees, vines and flowering plants.

STORY STROLLl March 14th; 11:30AM-2:30PM

Help us host our first Story Stroll, an interactive event where children enjoy a story—read in both English and Spanish—while moving through hands-on activity stations. Volunteers may read the book or assist with activities like planting seeds, crafts, chalk art, a scavenger hunt, or cupcake decorating. Training and support will be provided onsite by our staff. Please check in under the pavilion. Spanish-speaking volunteers are encouraged to sign up, but all are welcome!
