Grand Celebration, Sept. 30th, 2023

It was a Grand Celebration indeed! Thanks to our community partners, sponsors, entertainers, and volunteers for assembling and facilitating such a special occasion -- and thanks to neighbors and friends for celebrating with us! On Sept 30th, we hosted a grand celebration at the new Mill Ridge Park. The event activities included a Family-friendly 5K along the grassland loop trail; a Land Blessing in Choctaw by Native American Indian Association Board President, Sally Wells; a Musical performance by Serenatta Latin Ensemble; Yoga in the great lawn with Small World Yoga; Native American powwow dancers from The Red Road; Intro to Zumba class; Just Imagine kids’ show by two-time Emmy & Grammy award winning, Dennis Scott; Performances by Thurgood Marshall MS, Antioch MS, & Cane Ridge HS; Musical performance by award-winning songwriter, Brant Miller; Cake & Chat with Councilwoman Joy Styles; Musical performance by The 11:11 Band.

Food Vendors included Smokin’ Buttz; Hurt’s Hot Chicken; Lady Dawgs; Rice, Rolls & Whoknows; and Kona Ice.

Grand Sponsors were Freeland Auto, Wirtgen Group, Tanger Outlets, Pinnacle Financial Partners, HCA Healthcare & TriStar Health, and Pidemont Natural Gas!
